Various universities and colleges have their specific eligibility criteria to be fulfilled by the student seeking admission.

In general, there are three basic requirements for admission into any US university. These are:

• Proven academic record
• Sufficient financial resources
• Ability to use English language

Proven Academic record
Good grades in previous education are certainly going to be a plus.

Sufficient financial resources
While seeking admission, the student has to prove that he/she has sufficient financial backing to finish through the course.

Ability to use English language
The student has to exhibit command over English to get admission in any US university. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is one such test which the university might consider for assessing language skills.

Apart from above mentioned criteria, there are several other factors that play role for admission into any university, like acceptance ratio, achievement ratings, etc.

For higher education, students need to have 12 years of primary and secondary education from any private or government institute in or out of the United States.
